The concept of homosociality describes and is defined as the social bonds between persons of the same sex. It is, for example, frequently used in studies on men and masculinities. They are defined as a mechanism and social dynamic that explains the maintenance of hegemonic masculinity. They can also be seen as "gay" to another men from the outside of this social bonds.
