SMART is a tool used by businesses and individuals for setting and achieving goals. The acronym stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound. "Specific" is the first step of goal setting and answers the question: "What do I want to accomplish?" The second step is "Measurable" and entails to keeping track of one's progress. The third step is "Achievable," it answers the question "Is your goal attainable?" The fourth step is "Relevant" and is with regards to whether the goal is worthwhile. The final step is to determine the "Time-bound" which entails to setting up a deadline.
