Running for about 14 kilometers, the Cliffs of Moher are sea cliffs located at the Southwestern edge of the Burren region in County Clare, along the wild Atlantic Way in Ireland. Topping a list of attractions in 2006, the cliffs are one of the most visited tourist attractions in Ireland. The oldest rocks are reported to be found at the bottom of the cliffs, consisting mainly of beds of Namurian shale and sandstone. About 30,000 pairs of birds are also spotted on the cliffs at the peak season, which makes for more than 20 species. Marine life is rich and blooming with a variety of species. The cliffs have appeared in several films as well.
