The Mursi is an ethnic group residing in one of the most isolated regions of Ethiopia, the beautiful Omo valley. The Mursi is considered the most fascinating tribe of Ethiopia. They speak the Mursi language which is their mother tongue. The Mursi is one of the last remaining tribes in Africa to hold their tradition as they still wear their traditional dress and accessories, with the women famous for their unique headdresses. The women wear clay or wooden plates in their lower lips or earlobes. The stick fighting ceremony is popular among men. They still follow the ancient barter system of exchanging and sharing goods with other tribe members.
