Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags also known as RFID chip is an electronic tag which exchanges data with an RFID reader through radio waves. It is a type of tracking system that uses smart barcodes in order to identify items. RFID tag works by sending & receiving data via an antenna and a micro-chip — also generally referred to as an integrated circuit or IC. The micro-chip on an RFID reader is written with whatever data the user desires. RFID tags are frequently used for merchandise, but they can be attached to almost any object and also used to track pets, baggage, vehicles, and even patients with Alzheimer’s disease.
