Being one of the greatest military leaders of the world, Gaius Julius Caesar expanded the Roman Republic through a series of battles and was granted the title Dictator Perpetuus (dictator for life). Caesar was a political and military genius who overthrew the decaying Roman political order and replaced it with dictatorship. Unfortunately, he was murdered by a group of nobles in the Roman Senate House, who believed that he was becoming too powerful. He played a crucial role in the abolition of the Roman Republic and the rise of the Roman Empire. He also started social and governmental reforms, including the introduction of the Julian Calendar.
