In this contemporary satire, George Orwell, creates an account on the history of a revolution that goes wrong and the corrupting influence of power. Mr. Jones is a drunken farmer who mistreats his livestock. Under the leadership of the pigs Napoleon and Snowball the animal rebel and take over the farm. The new organization of the farms is then dedicated to benefit all animals. But as time passes the ideals of the rebellion are forgotten and corrupted. This corruption is summarized by the following sentence. “All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than other.” This book is a satire on the Russian revolution and the Stalin era.
