The best temperature for coffee growth is between 15 to 24C (59 - 75F). The annual rainfall to grow coffee beans is around 1500 to 3000 mm. A slope which is less than 15% is more preferable. Other climate conditions such as the humidity, the atmosphere and the absorption properties of the soil are essential to the growth of coffee. Wind bends young coffee trees and caused vertical stems which may decrease the yield. In some tropical coffee-growing regions, shading is significant and can be done with layers of trees.
