The center of the Earth is called the Core, which has two parts: the inner core and the outer core. The innermost geologic layer of the Earth is called the inner core which is primarily a solid ball with a radius of about 760 miles, which is about 20% of the Earth's radius. The inner core is believed to be composed of primarily iron with some other elements. Earth's outer core is a fluid layer of about 1,500 miles thick composed of mostly iron and nickel along with small amounts of other dense elements like gold, platinum, and uranium that lies in between the Earth's solid inner core and its mantle.
