Galileo used a telescope with a focal length of 1330 mm, a 26 mm aperture. The telescope magnifies 14x. According to Galileo, the surface of the moon was similar to the face of the earth; it was rough and uneven. He observed the planet Jupiter and noticed four star-like objects in line with it; these objects were moons of Jupiter. Regarding the sun, he observed dark regions that seemed to move across its surface. Galileo observed the two appendages from the side of Saturn.
