Monte Rosa is located at the border of Switzerland and Italy, between the Swiss canton of Valais and the Italian regions of Aosta Valley and Piedmont. It is the highest peak in Switzerland with measures of 4,634m (15,203ft). Regarding the geology, the peaks are composed of gneisses. Wildlife in the Alps is diverse; however, the lynx, the wolf, Alpine Ibex, the deer, and the eagle are great representatives of the fauna. During the summertime, the vegetation in the lower slopes is composed of flowers such as trumpet gentians, pasque flowers, vetch or martagon lilies.
