The sea turtles belong to one of the oldest animal families in the world. According to the World Wildlife Federation, sea turtles have been on Earth for 100 million years. Their size range from 2 feet (65cm) to 7 feet (2 meters). The largest sea turtle can weigh 2,000 lbs while the smallest one can weigh approximately 100 lbs. The upper part of their shell is the carapace while the lower part is called the plastron. Their eardrums are covered by skin. They don't have teeth but have very sharp beaks in their jaws. Sea turtles are carnivores and mainly eat jellyfish, snails, and crabs. They can be found in tropical seas around the world.
