LZ 129 Hindenburg was a large German passenger-carrying rigid airship. It was the first airliner that connected Europe and North America. In its day, the Hindenburg was the fastest and most comfortable way to cross the Atlantic. The interior of the airship was gorgeous. However, more than its technological achievements, the airship is better known for its great disaster which took place on May 6, 1937, in Manchester Township, New Jersey, United States. After completing twenty safe crossings, it catches fire and gets destroyed due to hydrogen leak during an attempt to dock with its mooring mast, with 36 deaths out of the 97 people on board.
